Machinist level I, II, and III employees perform duties in the Machine Shop according to print and/or process guidelines in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Employees are expected to have multiple capabilities and skills and be familiar with production processes. Employees are responsible for keeping management informed of technical issues related to the department. Monitors quality of products and instructs staff in proper process implementation and assists with processes and manufacturing as needed. Also, familiar with all equipment and systems in the Machine shop area and have expertise in majority of all processes or mastery level experience in quality and workmanship standards. Maintain a good understanding of machines, tools and inspection equipment used for Manufacturing.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs daily and periodic maintenance on machinery.
  2. Sets up and runs manual and/or CNC equipment.
  3. Install and properly align all fixtures and tooling required to set-up new and repeat jobs.
  4. Properly utilize all necessary gauges and equipment to properly perform in-process inspection.
  5. Inspects own parts to assure conformance to blueprints.
  6. Deburrs, cleans, and packages parts as required.
  7. Ensures nonconforming parts are identified, segregated, and prevented from inadvertent use.
  8. Follows manufacturing work instructions and complete all required steps.
  9. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving of manufacturing problems.
  10. Assist in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of the machine.
  11. Keep workstation clean.
  12. Keep supervisor aware of any condition that may affect the efficiency, quality, or completion of jobs.
  13. Operates within ISO requirements and Quality Management System (QMS).
  14. Operates within 6S Machine Shop specific requirements.
  15. Daily or weekly cleaning of machinery.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
